Bahar Farshchi Jamshidabady

BSc Arts Therapy (for adolescents and adults)
Body-Oriented Creative Arts Therapist

My motivation is to help you reconnect with your natural state of being.

I am known for my empathy, intuitive perception, warm involvement, and playfulness. As a therapist, I create the conditions needed for healing and for living a flowing and healthy life.

Fascinated by life, people, and the power of creativity, I completed a degree in Social and Cultural Work and went on to study Art Therapy at Leiden University of Applied Sciences, graduating in 1999.

For more than two decades, I have been deeply committed to training and personal development, believing that continuous self-work is essential in being able to guide others effectively.

Driven by a desire to deepen my understanding of body-oriented work, I completed my Focus Practitioner training in 2010.

I practice various forms of meditation, with a special love for movement-based meditations such as 5Rhythms© by Gabrielle Roth and Authentic Movement, as well as several Buddhist meditations and meditative sculpting (developed by Frank Roeland Hoefsloot).

Since 2004, I have worked as a therapist in private practice, and since 2006, I have been based at the anthroposophic medical center Sterre der Zee in Scheveningen.

Between 2007 and 2015, I taught Art Therapy at Leiden University of Applied Sciences.

Building on my clinical experience and ongoing studies, I developed the specialization Body-Oriented Art Therapy and have been offering postgraduate training in this field since 2010.

I am currently completing a handbook on Body-Oriented Art Therapy and conducting scientific research on this method in collaboration with the Lectorate for Anthroposophic Healthcare.
