As a psychologist at iMindU, I work with young people and adults who may be going through a difficult time or finding it hard to cope with certain situations, feelings, or challenges in their lives. This can include difficulties with self-confidence, anxiety, depression, relationships, ADHD, or autism. I believe it is important that people feel comfortable, understood, and accepted in therapy. I see therapy as a collaborative process, where we work together to understand what is going on and what might help you move forward with greater insight and confidence.
My approach is influenced by different therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Schema Therapy, and Mentalization-Based Therapy. I find it helpful to explore how our experiences, emotions, and relationships can shape the way we see ourselves and others. I adapt my approach to each person and their stage of life. With young people, building trust, making sense of emotions, and finding helpful ways to cope are often important parts of the work. With adults, there may be more space to explore relationships, patterns, and experiences from earlier in life that may still affect how they feel and respond today. My interest in these areas has also led me to want to further develop my knowledge and experience in trauma and trauma treatment.
Earlier in my career, I had the opportunity to work alongside experienced psychologists at iMindU, where I gained experience in psychological assessment of personality, intelligence, ADHD, attachment, and emotion regulation. I obtained the Basic Certificate in Psychodiagnostics (BAPD; Basisaantekening Psychodiagnostiek) from the Dutch Association of Psychologists (NIP), and I am registered with the Dutch Foundation for Quality Register Youth (SKJ).
I look forward to continuing to grow as a psychologist through new experiences, supervision, and further training.
