Reimbursement from basic health insurance
iMindU GGZ has contracts with the following health insurers for 2025:
- Aevitae (Caresq/Eucare)
- CZ (CZ, Ohra, and Nationale Nederlanden) – budget cap
- DSW (DSW/Stad Holland)
iMindU GGZ also holds an RMO/RMA contract with DSW for refugees and asylum seekers.
We have no contracts with other insurers for 2025.
For 2024, iMindU GGZ has contracts with Aevitae (Caresq/Eucare), CZ (CZ, Ohra, Just, and Nationale Nederlanden), and an RMO/RMA contract with DSW.
CZ has a budget cap, meaning only a limited number of patients can be treated under this insurance.
Unfortunately, patients insured with CZ (CZ, Ohra, Just, and Nationale Nederlanden) can no longer be accepted for the remainder of 2024 due to the imposed budget cap.
If you are insured with one of the above-mentioned health insurers, we handle billing directly with your insurer.
If you are insured with a company with which we have no contract, you may ask your insurer for care mediation or, in the case of a budget cap, a budget extension. When entering into a treatment agreement, we send you a monthly invoice for treatment. You pay the full amount to iMindU GGZ and submit the invoice to your insurer. Depending on your policy, your insurer may reimburse all or part of the costs. Please contact your insurer for details.
We use the NZa (Dutch Healthcare Authority) rates for mental health institutions under Quality Charter Section 3 outpatient care, both mono- and multidisciplinary.
Specialist mental health care (sGGZ) is covered under the Dutch Health Insurance Act and reimbursed from the basic insurance. A referral letter from a GP, company doctor, or medical specialist is required. You may receive treatment elsewhere at the same time, but not for the same diagnosis.
Deductible
Please note that your health insurer will charge the mandatory deductible each year.
The deductible is set at €385 per year for both 2024 and 2025, unless you have agreed to a higher amount.
No costs for family members and close contacts
We often ask family members or significant others to join therapy sessions. There are no costs for their participation, their deductible is not affected, and no referral is needed. However, we are required to register anyone present during treatment as an associated patient (“nevenpatiënt”).
The Care Performance Model and your privacy
Since 2022, mental health care in the Netherlands has been reimbursed under the Zorgprestatiemodel (Care Performance Model). Care providers such as iMindU GGZ are required to include the DSM-5 diagnostic code—and until recently, also the Care Demand Typing—on the invoice sent to the insurer.
If you object to this for privacy reasons, you can complete the privacy declaration included in our intake package.
If you choose not to sign a privacy declaration, it will be mandatory from 2025 to sign a consent form allowing the DSM code(s) related to your diagnosis to appear on your invoice.
Foreign insurance
If you have foreign (health) insurance rather than Dutch insurance, you are also welcome at iMindU GGZ.
Some foreign insurers reimburse a fixed percentage or limited number of sessions—sometimes as a supplement to Dutch insurance, sometimes independently. Please check with your insurer in advance. Some insurers require a cost estimate, which we can provide.
We always request a guarantee of payment from the foreign insurer if direct invoicing is permitted. However, you remain personally responsible for all payments.
Children & Adolescents
Reimbursement by the municipality
Since 2015, youth mental health care for children and adolescents under 18 has been reimbursed under the Dutch Youth Act. This means that municipalities, not insurers, cover the costs.
For 2024, iMindU GGZ has contracts with municipalities in the Holland Rijnland region, including:
Leiden, Leiderdorp, Oegstgeest, Teylingen, Voorschoten, Zoeterwoude, Nieuwkoop, Kaag en Braassem, Katwijk, Noordwijk, Hillegom, Lisse, and Alphen aan den Rijn.
Within this agreement, a fixed budget is available for specialist mental health care (sGGZ). Once this budget is exhausted, care can only be accessed through a special municipal arrangement. The municipality determines eligibility for such exceptions.
To receive care from iMindU GGZ, your child must first be registered through the local Youth and Family Team (JeugdGezinsTeam). Only after their intake and approval of a referral to specialist mental health care (sGGZ)—specifically naming iMindU GGZ—can you register with us. If we estimate sufficient budget remaining, we can schedule an intake.
Self-funded treatment
You may also choose to pay for your child’s treatment privately—for example, for privacy reasons or to avoid waiting for municipal approval or funding.
Please note that this can be costly, especially at the start of treatment due to intensive diagnostics (which we see as the first stage of personalized care). Costs usually decrease as treatment progresses but may temporarily rise during crisis situations, such as family interventions.
Our care is team-based, meaning multiple therapists may be involved. It is not possible to select a specific therapist, even if you have worked with them before.
We will provide a cost estimate in advance, though exact costs may vary because each treatment is customized. We require a deposit of €2,000, payable before treatment begins. This amount is refunded at the end of treatment once all invoices have been paid.
Self-pay hourly rates for 2025:
- Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist – €260/hour
- Clinical Psychologist – €210/hour
- Psychotherapist – €175/hour
- (GZ) Psychologist / Orthopedagogue-Generalist – €145/hour
- Post-Master Psychologist / Orthopedagogue – €125/hour
- Creative Therapist / Arts Therapist – €115/hour
